A very YES experiment

Our brief was simple: give YES cultural and political currency: In other words, make YES cool.

Political ads aren’t exactly my “thing.” But when my partner in crime, Greg Bokor, wanted to do something punk rock to help get Prop50 passed in California, I jumped at the chance. Using music and cultural iconography that resonates in social media, our goal was to make at least one TikTok a day for 50 days before voting day. We came impressively close, getting thousands of followers and likes on TikTok and Instagram — and we’re still getting follows months later. Spoiler alert: the proposition passed.
